Nest, by Michelle Lederer
Aluminum wire
The inspiration for this nest came from thinking about using high-tech materials in a low-tech way. A Cooper Union trained architect, the artist found properties inherent in aluminum wire conductive to constructing a nest. She used the concept of the nest as ‘home’ incorporating the idea of building houses in the form of a little village, contained within the nest, and representing the homes that will be built through the efforts of The Nesting Project.
